This is a nightscape photo I took back in 2016. It is one of favourites but for some reason it never made it on to my website. A starry night over cornfields and silos.
This particular night there was Aurora alerts up for southern Ontario. I thought I’d head out and see if I could capture it. There is a faint hint of the Aurora in the photo. It didn’t end being all that strong that night.
Taken with a stock Canon 350XT (Rebel) DSLR and Sigma 17mm-70mm zoom lens.
Location: between Petersburg and Baden, Ontario.

My story began more than 40 years ago looking up at the Moon with a small telescope my Father had. Encouraged by my parents, who bought me my very own telescope, a 4.5″ reflector, I began to explore the night sky from my family home backyard. Today I do astrophotography from my home in Kitchener, Ontario and also with remote telescopes located in New Mexico and Australia. Some of my images have won awards and have been featured online and in magazines.
