As a teenager my interest in Astronomy grew to new levels. One of the exciting things happening in the night sky at that time was the return of Comet Halley in 1986.
I recall my Father and I in the backyard of the family home taking pictures of the Comet Halley using a film SLR camera, lens and fixed tripod. It was a memorable experience not only seeing this famous visitor from the depths of our solar system but also time spent with my Father that I remember fondly.
These are the photos of Comet Halley we were able to get!
My story began more than 40 years ago looking up at the Moon with a small telescope my Father had. Encouraged by my parents, who bought me my very own telescope, a 4.5″ reflector, I began to explore the night sky from my family home backyard. Today I do astrophotography from my home in Kitchener, Ontario and also with remote telescopes located in New Mexico and Australia. Some of my images have won awards and have been featured online and in magazines.
