Just a quick post here… very cold this morning, February 26, 2014. The Moon and Venus were a close pairing in the pre-dawn sky. I was out driving and was able to stop and take this photo of these celestial bodies over an industrial factory. Lucky I still had my Canon DSLR and lens with me in the vehicle from a previous night. #clearskies!
Update, Feb 18, 2016 – I have to admit this photo haunts me. I took it the day before my two Sons would unexpectedly come into the world, and leave again not long after.
My story began more than 40 years ago looking up at the Moon with a small telescope my Father had. Encouraged by my parents, who bought me my very own telescope, a 4.5″ reflector, I began to explore the night sky from my family home backyard. Today I do astrophotography from my home in Kitchener, Ontario and also with remote telescopes located in New Mexico and Australia. Some of my images have won awards and have been featured online and in magazines.
